casa tranquility

Casa Tranquility - Moraira, Spain

I've been a paraplegic for 14 years now and my husband and I have travelled to many different places; we've stayed in motels and hotels and homes and villas and seen a variety of what owners and managers call accessible. I am happy to say that the hosts of "Villa Tranquility" in Moraira in the Costa Blanca region of Spain have done it right.

While the surrounding terrain is very hilly and not suitable for wheelchairs, the inside of the home, the deck, pool and car areas of this vacation villa are well thought out and have taken into account the challenges of life in a chair. No bumpy thresholds to deal with, nice wide halls and doorways, and a shower and pool that most chair users will be able to use. Additionally, a level area for your vehicle makes entry into and out of your mode of transportation easy to accomplish.

If you want to stay at home and enjoy the pool, it's there. Or if you prefer the beach, there are accessible ones a short distance away; the choice is yours and you won't be disappointed.

While power beds that can raise and lower head and feet areas are becoming more common for home use this is the first time I have seen them in a rental. We have one at home and it was great to be able to get my feet up during the day when I needed to. I could still sit up and read without having to find pillows galore to sit up against.

The powered recliners were also a nice treat and something we may consider adding to our home now that we've had a chance to try them out.

Super. We have just returned from the house and already miss it. Cosy, meticulous in every detail, fresh, clean, with its own garden.

In our case we travelled with a person with a disability, and is fully accessible to wheelchairs: wide doors, ramps, adapted bathroom, spacious room.

The ideal environment, leafy trees and a couple of fresh natural pools. In addition we thank the owner for all the facilities which we procured, that were several. In addition to the close and friendly treatment. Thank you.

Villa Xenofilia V - Moraira, Spain

This was our third stay this year in this wonderful villa.

It's perfectly suited for wheelchair users; there were two of us in wheelchairs. Wide doors, all areas were easily accessible, a large bathroom with shower trolley, and a mobile lift; in short, the villa was provided with many conveniences.

It looks even more beautiful in real life than it does on photos. The house is fully furnished and equipped with a washing machine and dishwasher. The magnificent kitchen is fitted out with all the necessary kitchen appliances. The manager, Ron, offers an excellent service. It's only a 25-minute journey to the village, which has lots of cafés and restaurants.

Highly recommended, we have already booked again.

Casa Feliz Dias is a lovely, bungalow-style villa. All areas of the villa's interior and exterior are accessible by wheelchair, scooter and other walking aids. There is a lovely path through the gardens to the BBQ, which can also be accessed via the pool. The area around the pool is spacious with tables whose height allows wheelchair users to feel included.

The bedroom, specifically modelled for the disabled guest, contains a bed with a height suited to safe transition from chair to bed.  There are plenty of drawers and the bottom of a wardrobe suitable for storage of clothes etc.. A wet room is adjacent to this bedroom where there is also an adapted sink. Plugs and switches throughout the property can be found at wheelchair height.

From the car parking space the villa is accessed by flat surface to the villa door. There are no steps which guests need to climb during their stay.

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday.
